Finally, we received data for the full "quarantine" April and hasten to share this news with you.
As expected, forced self-isolation contributed to the growth of television viewing, and its figure reached its maximum value since the beginning of the year this month.
Namely, the total TV viewing was 7.15% (an increase of 1.55 percentage points), the daily average coverage rose up to 32.9%, and the average viewing time has increased by 39 minutes and amounted to 5 hours 12 minutes.
As of the end of April, there were more than 362.2 thousand active households in the panel.
In April, children's and movie channels became the leaders in growth, but sports channels continued to lose audience.
The group of general viewing channels did not change its indicators during the reporting period (a slight decrease of only 0.18 percentage points to 58.70%). The viewing share of the group of entertainment channels in second place, on the contrary, has increased slightly (an increase of 0.26 percentage points up to 7.83%). A group of children's channels, which share of viewing 7.55% is 0.56 percentage points higher than its indicator in March, ranked third. The viewing share for the group of movie channels has increased immediately by 0.73 percentage points (up to 7.15%), and ranking fourth. Fifth place was claimed by a group of news channels, which share of viewing has risen by 0.14 percentage points up to 6.97%. The group of documentary channels (the viewing share increased by 0.26 percentage points) ranking sixth with a share of 5.22%. In seventh place was a group of channels demonstrating TV series with a total share of 3.08% (a decrease of 0.03 percentage points). The group of sports channels continued to lose in April (2.26 percentage points minus compared to the previous month), and dropped to the eighth place with a share of 1.94%. The group of music channels continues to rank ninth (the share in April decreased by only 0.01 percentage points and amounted to 1.53%).
And now, let's take a closer look at the leaders among TV channels in viewing by genre.
In April, 1 + 1 has finished with a viewing share of 12.30% (an increase of 0.23 percentage points), and “Ukraina” channel has ended the month in second place with a share of 10.73% (a decrease of 0.22 percentage points). 1 + 1 has generated 440.3 thousand contacts, while “Ukraina” channel had a slightly more modest figure - 411.4 thousand. In third place was STB channel with viewing share of 8.88% (an increase of 0.03 percentage points and 408.2 thousand contacts). ICTV is on fourth, losing 0.20 percentage points in April. (share of viewing 8.41%, number of contacts the channel got - 401.3 thousand). The Novy Channel sagged for 0.17 percentage points of viewing and ranking fifth (share of viewing 7.13%, generated 391.6 thousand contacts), and Inter channel remained on sixth place with a rate of 5.30% (the viewing share has decreased by 0.08 percentage points, 345.8 thousand contacts were generated).
Totally, the group of general viewing channels gained 3.5 million contacts with IPTV/OTT households in April.
On weekdays of April, 1 + 1 channel took the lead. The second place was taken by the “Ukraina” channel, the third was taken by the STB channel.
Over the weekend, also 1 + 1 channel was the leader, and “Ukraina” channel has remained in second place. The third place was taken by ICTV channel.
Among entertainment channels, TET has led the group, slightly improving its viewing performance (0.08 percentage points up to 3.45%) and gained 306.8 thousand contacts with IPTV/OTT households throughout Ukraine in April. The average viewing time of TET channel was 53.3 minutes this month.
The viewing share of Indigo channel has increased by 0.12 percentage points up to 0.90%. Kvartal TV climbed to third place with a rate of 0.63% (an increase of 0.04 percentage points). Indigo got 189.8 thousand contacts with viewers, while Kvartal TV - 139.2 thousand. In fourth place was Mega channel with a share of 0.58% (down 0.04 percentage points), and OCE channel located on fifth (sagging view by 0.05 percentage points to 0.54%)
In general, the entertainment channels group gained 1.6 million contacts with IPTV/OTT households within a month.
The viewing of Plus Plus has increased by 0.19 percentage points. to the level of 2.60%, and the channel remains in first place, generating 147.3 thousand contacts in April. Nickelodeon (an increase of 0.17 percentage points to 1.40%) took second place, and Pixel channel (an increase of 0.08 percentage points to 1.08%) took the third, respectively. Nickelodeon channel generated 68.5 thousand contacts, Pixel - 117.1 thousand. The fourth place was claimed by Cartoon Network, which share of viewing decreased by 0.12 percentage points down to 1.05%, and the number of contacts amounted to 28.6 thousand.
A total of 859,000 contacts with households connected to the IPTV / OTT panel took place with children's channels during April.
In April, TV 1000 East took the leading position among movie channels (viewing share 1.64%, growth by 0.28 percentage points). In total, more than 212.8 thousand unique households connected to IPTV | OTT platforms watched TV 1000 East within a month throughout Ukraine with an average viewing time of 57 minutes.
TV Action 1000 East channel ended with a rate of 1.25% (an increase of 0.07 percentage points, the number of contacts - 145.7 thousand) and took second place among the group. The third place in the group was claimed by Enter Film (the share 0.66%, growth by 0.05 percentage points), which was viewed by 137 thousand households. In fourth place was the ViP Comedy channel (0.62%, an increase of 0.07 percentage points). FOX channel (the share of viewing remained unchanged at 0.47%) took fifth place. The channel reached 79.1 thousand households in April.
Totally, the group of movie channels gained 1.6 million contacts with IPTV/OTT households in April.
The first place among news channels continues to be held by “Ukraine 24” channel, which share of viewing has increased by 0.17 percentage points up to 1.47% in April (the channel received 236.6 thousand contacts and the average viewing time of 32.8 minutes). 112 Channel has reduced the viewing share to 1.10%, which is 0.19 percentage points below its result in March, and ranks second with 149.7 thousand contacts. The average viewing time was 42.5 minutes. The indicator of viewing share for PRYAMIY channel, which located in third place, fell by 0.10 percentage points down to 0.92%. The channel received 134.2 thousand unique contacts in April. Fourth place for News One channel according to the results of April, its share of viewing was 0.70%, the number of contacts with the channel - 88.9 thousand. Espresso TV on the fifth (the share of viewing decreased by 0.10 percentage points to level of 0.40%), which generated 121.9 thousand contacts.
The total number of IPTV | OTT household contacts with news channels throughout Ukraine amounted to 1.47 million in April.
Among the documentary channels the first place in the group was taken by the channel Viasat History, which viewing share has slightly increased by only 0.01 percentage points up to 0.66% (the number of contacts with the channel - 138.1 thousand), while the NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC channel occupied the second position in the group with a share of 0.63% (an increase of 0.05 percentage points). The number of contacts the channel got with IPTV | OTT households throughout Ukraine amounted to 100.6 thousand. In third place was Viasat Explore with a share of 0.62% (the increase of 0.04 percentage points). The History channel (0.57% viewing share) is in fourth place, and the Viasat Nature CEE is on fifth with 0.42% share.
The average viewing time of the group's leading TV channels in April was: Viasat History - 43 minutes, NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC - 33.7 minutes, Viasat Explore CEE - 40.3 minutes.
In total, the group of cognitive channels generated 1.9 million contacts with IPTV | OTT households in April.
The group of channels demonstrating TV series was still headed by NLO-TV channel, which in April received a share of 1.58% (an increase of 0.18 percentage points) and generated 176.3 thousand contacts with IPTV/OTT households. In second place was BIGUDI channel, which viewing share fell slightly to 0.43%. Third place went to Sony Entertainment Television channel with its share of 0.31%.
Generally, the TV series channels gained 628.9 thousand contacts with IPTV/OTT households throughout Ukraine.
In April, the decline in football channels continued its fall. Football 2 channel took first place with a share of 0.63% (a decrease of 0.95 percentage points), and Football 1 channel (a share of 0.61 % in April, has decreased in 0.87 percentage points) is on second position. Football 2 has received 134.2 thousand contacts, while Football 1 was viewed by 136.9 thousand households. In third place with a share of 0.25% was the channel Football 3 (the share of viewing has decreased by 0.10 percentage points, the number of contacts with the channel - 77 thousand). The fourth place is taken by XSport channel with a share of 0.15% and 103.1 thousand contacts with households. Eurosport 1 linked to fifth with a viewing share of 0.09% (down 0.01 percentage points).
In total, the group of sports channels generated about 721.8 thousand contacts.
Among music channels, M1 ranked first - its share of viewing decreased to 0.55%, on the second - M2 (the share of viewing has increased by 0.03 percentage points up to 0.27%). EU Music is on third with a viewing share of 0.22%.
In general, the group of music channels has received 655.4 thousand contacts in April.
Among the regional channels in April, “Channel Z” remains in first place with a share of 0.158%. “KIEV Channel”, having received a viewing share of 0.10%, ranks second. In third place is “Donbass” channel with a share of 0.085%, and “34 Channel”, which share of viewing has increased to 0.071%, took the fourth place. UA: Crimea has a share of 0.070%.
In April, the group of regional channels received more than 673 thousand contacts with households.
