As a result of the influence of these factors, the overall TV rating rose to the level of January and amounted to 5.60% in March. The average cover for the day did not reach the level of January, but we remember TV viewing had increased only during the second half of March. But the average viewing time has increased by almost an hour and amounted to 4 hours 33 minutes compared to February (the record since the beginning of the year)
By the end of month, there were more than 424.2 thousand active households in the panel. In March, the viewers watched more the channels of general viewing, news channels, and the viewing share for a group of TV series channels has increased slightly. However, sports channels lost in viewing the most, as many tournaments and championships were canceled or postponed due to quarantine. Channel groups by genre
In March, the group of general viewing channels has improved significantly its position (an increase of 2.59 percentage points to 58.88%). The viewing share of entertainment channels group has also increased slightly to the second place (an increase of 0.06 percentage points to 7.57%). A group of children's channels, which share of viewing was 6.99%, that is 0.15 percentage points below its figure in February, has ranked third. The viewing share for a group of movie channels lost 1.13 percentage points immediately this month (decreased to 6.42%), which made this group to move from second to the fourth place. Fifth place is occupied by a group of news channels, which share of viewing has increased by 1.18 percentage points up to 6.57%. The group of documentary channels (the viewing share decreased by 0.78 percentage points), ranks sixth with a rate of 5.83%. The sports channels group has mostly lost in March (2.38 percentage points minus compared to the previous month), and fell to the seventh place with a viewing share of 4.19%. In eighth place is the TV series channels group with a total share of 3.12% (an increase of 0.61 percentage points). The group of music channels (the viewing lost 0.19 percentage points and amounted to 1.54% in March) continues to rank the ninth.
General viewing channels
In March, 1 + 1 has ended the month with a viewing share of 12.07% (up 0.34 percentage points), and ‘’Ukraina’’ Channel has got its share of 10.51% (down 0.43 percentage points) in second place . 1 + 1 channel has generated 807.2 thousand contacts, and “Ukraina” channel has a slightly more modest figure - 759.8 thousand. In third place is STB with a share of 8.85% (an increase of 2.39 percentage points and reached the 697.6 thousand contacts). ICTV moved to the fourth place, adding only 0.47 percentage points in March. (the share of viewing in March has reached 8.61%, the number of contacts the channel got is 748.5 thousand). Novy Channel has increased by 0.36 percentage points in March its share of viewing and ranks fifth (7.30% share and generated 688.1 thousand contacts), while Inter remains on sixth place with a rate of 5.38% (the viewing share increased by 0.05 percentage points and 597.6 thousand contacts has been generated).
In total, the group of general viewing channels gained 5.9 million contacts with IPTV/OTT households in March.
Entertainment channels
TET channel leads the group increasing its viewing share (up 0.33 percentage points to 3.37%) and gained 521,000 contacts with IPTV/OTT households across Ukraine in March. The average viewing time was 49.5 minutes in March.
The share of Indigo channel, on second place, has decreased by 0.02 percentage points up to 0.78%. Mega remained in third with a viewing share of 0.62% (a decrease of 0.12 percentage points). Indigo got the 264.4 thousand contacts with viewers, while the Mega channel - 246.7 thousand. In fourth place was Kvartal TV channel with a share of 0.59% (an increase of 0.13 percentage points), and the OCE channel located in fifth place (sagging share of viewing by 0.12 percentage points to 0.59%)
In total, the group of entertainment channels has gained 2.3 million contacts with IPTV/OTT households for month.
Children's channels
The viewing share of Plus Plus channel has increased by 0.29 percentage points to the level of 2.41%, and the channel remains in first place, generating 289.9 thousand contacts in March. Nickelodeon was second (down 0.24 percentage points to 1.24%), and Cartoon Networkwas got the third place (down 0.17 percentage points to 1.17 %). Nickelodeon has generated 120.2 thousand contacts, and Cartoon Network - 39.3 thousand. The fourth place got Pixel channel, which share has decreased by 0.03 percentage points up to 1.00%, and the number of contacts amounted to 203.8 thousand.
A total of 1.22 million contacts with households connected to the IPTV/OTT panel took place with children's channels in March.
Movie channels
In March, the leading position was taken by TV 1000 East (viewing share of 1.35% was an increase of 0.31 percentage points). More than 464.4 thousand unique households connected to IPTV/OTT platforms has watched TV 1000 East for the month in Ukraine with an average viewing of 47 minutes.
TV Action 1000 East channel has moved to the second place in the group with a share of 1.18% (a decrease of 0.08 percentage points, the number of contacts - 341.2 thousand). The third place in the group is claimed by Enter Film (0.61% share, a decrease of 0.03 percentage points), and 213 thousand households has been watching the channel during the month. In fourth place is ViP Comedy (viewing share 0.55%, a decrease of 0.07 percentage points). The FOX channel ranked fifth (the drawn in 0.05 percentage points down to 0.48%), with 84.9 thousand contacts in March.
The group of movie channels has gained 2.44 million contacts with IPTV/OTT households in March.
News channels
In breakthrough to the first place, the channel “Ukraina 24”, which viewing share more than doubled and reached 1.30 percentage points in March. (the channel has received 383.6 thousand contacts and the average viewing time of 27.6 minutes). 112 Channel increased the share of viewing to 1.29%, which is 0.17 percentage points higher than its result in February and ranks second with 235.7 thousand contacts. The average viewing time was 44.5 minutes. The share of viewing of PRYAMIY channel, which took the third place, has increased by 0.19 percentage points up to 1.02%. The channel has received 218.2 thousand unique contacts in February. The fourth place is taken by Espresso TV channel - its share of viewing was 0.50%, the number of contacts with channel was 194.6 thousand according to the results of March. News One has located the fifth (the viewing share dipped 0.02 percentage points to 0.46%), which generated 109.6 thousand contacts.
The total number of household IPTV/OTT contacts with the group of news channels throughout Ukraine was 2.09 million this month.
Documentary channels
In the first place of the group was the channel Viasat History, which share of viewing has decreased by 0.03 percentage points to 0.65% (the total number of contacts with the channel - 257.8 thousand), and the NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC channel has moved to the second position in the group with a share of 0.57% (a decrease of 0.15 percentage points). The number of contacts with IPTV/OTT households throughout Ukraine amounted to 105.1 thousand. In third place was Viasat Explore CEE with a viewing share of 0.58% (an increase of 0.09 percentage points). The History channel (0.51% share) is in fourth place, and Viasat Nature CEE is in fifth with 0.39% share.
The average viewing time of the group's leading TV channels was: Viasat History -43 minutes, NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC -31.3 minutes, Viasat Explore CEE -38.5 minutes.
In total, the group of documentary channels generated 2.5 million contacts with IPTV/OTT households in March.
Sports channels
In March, the football channels lost the most due to the cancellation or postponement of football tournaments. Football 2 channel took the first place with a share of 1.58% (down 0.94 percentage points), and the Football1 channel (share in March - 1.48%, down 0.65 percentage points) is on second position. Football2 received 371.2 thousand contacts, Football 1 has been watched by 362.9 thousand households. In third place with a viewing share of 0.35% was the channel Football3 (the share of viewing has decreased by 0.05 percentage points, the number of contacts with the channel - 144 thousand) The fourth place is occupied by the channel SetantaSports HD with a viewing share of 0.32% and 70,9 thousand contacts. XSport ranks fifth with a share of 0.22% (down 0.07 percentage points).
In total, the group of sports channels generated about 1.37 million contacts.
TV series channels
The group of TV series channels is headed by the NLO-TV channel, which has received a share of viewing of 1.40% (an increase of 0.03 percentage points) and generated 289.8 thousand contacts with IPTV/OTT households in March. In second place is BIGUDI channel, which share has risen up to 0.45%. Third place goes to Sony Entertainment Television channel with a viewing share of 0.23%.
In total, the group of channels demonstrating TV series has gained 882.8 thousand contacts with IPTV/OTT households throughout Ukraine.
Music channels
M1 ranks first - its share of viewing has increased to 0.60%, while in second place - MUSIC BOX UA (the share of viewing has decreased by 0.02 percentage points down to 0.25%). M2 channel is in third place with a viewing share of 0.249%. Generally, the group of music channels has received 805.3 thousand contacts in March.
Regional channels
In March, Zaporizhzhyan “Channel Z” remained first among regional channels with a viewing rate of 0.154. “KIEV” channel has received a viewing share of 0.10% and took the second place. In third place is “Donbass” channel with a share of 0.075%, and “34 Channel”, which share of viewing has fallen to 0.068%, is in fourth place. Next channel, UA: Crimea, has a 0.062% share of viewing.
In March, the group of regional channels has received more than 778,000 contacts with IPTV/OTT households.
