Now quarantine in April has already become a habit for our country. However, despite the consumption of TV during the quarantine restrictions, we can note the TV audience begins to adapt to quarantine and finds other sources of entertainment, besides watching TV.

Last year we could see an abnormal increase in TV consumption during April-May, while this year there was no suchthe increase in TV viewing. Obviously, the audience has adapted to the quarantine and focused on money earningeven under the restrictions.
In general, the quarantine affected the consumption of television channels by outfits - the indicators of sports-related channels, children's channels and the news channels have increased (in opposite to the background of Russia's escalation of armed formations near the territory of Ukraine).
By the end of April, the number of respondents to OTT / IPTV panels took more than 416 000. Compared to March 2021, the total TV viewing decreased by 4% or 0.26 percentage points. (From 6.54% in March to 6.28% in April 2021.)
General viewing channels
In April, the first three channels look like this: 1 + 1 is in the usual first place, but STB channel is in second place within the general standing. Channel 1 + 1 had a viewing share of 12.00% in April (an increase of 0.47 p.p.), while that indicator of STB channel - 10.10% (a decrease of 0.09 p.p.). 1 + 1 has generated 810.9 thousand contacts, while for STB this figure was 802.9 thousand. In third place is the Channel ‘Ukraine’ with a viewing share of 10.08% (an increase of only 0.04 p.p. and 713.1 thousand contacts). ICTV channel added 0.58 p.p. in April and is in fourth place with an indicator of 8.96% (generated 732.2 thousand contacts). Novy Channel ranks fifth, has lost 0.53 p.p. in April. (The share of viewing is 6.44%, the number of contacts with the channel is 697.9 thousand), while Inter channel remains in sixth with an indicator of 4.27% (the share of viewing decreased by 0.69 p.p., generated 530.4 thousand contacts).
Movie channels
The leading position continues to be held by TV1000 East channel (viewing share of 1.86%, a decrease of 0.07 pp). In total, more than 342,500 unique households connected to the IPTV / OTT platform watched TV1000 East during a month throughout Ukraine with an average viewing rate of 38.5 minutes. TV1000 Action East with an indicator of 1.54% (a decrease of 0.02 p.p., number of contacts - 360.3 thousand) took the second place in the group. The third place in the group is held by ViP Comedy (the share of viewing is 0.93%, a decrease of 0.12 percentage points), which was viewed by 206.9 thousand households. The fourth place is taken by VIP Megahit HD (0.77% viewingshare, 0.12 pp growth, the number of contacts with the channel - 96.3 thousand). Enter-Film channel (the share of viewing dropped by 0.02 percentage points to 0.48%) took the fifth place - the channel reached 249.9 thousand households in April.
Sports channels
In the first place in the group remains Football 1, increasing its share of viewing by 0.34 p.p. up to 2.76%. Football 2ranks second with a viewing share of 1.78% (an increase of 0.12 p.p.). Football 1 received 182.3 thousand contacts, and Football 2 channel 164.9 thousand households were watching. Setanta Sports HD (the share of viewing is 0.58% in April, an increase of 0.04 p.p., the number of contacts with the channel - 270.1 thousand) takes the third position. The fourth place is occupied by Football 3 with a viewing share of 0.31% and 125.1 thousand contactsreached. FIGHTBOX HD ranks fifth with a viewing share of 0.24% and its 234.8 thousand contacts.
Children's channels
The share of viewing of Plus Plus has increased by 0.07 p.p. in April to the level of 1.84%, and the channel remains in first place, has generated 208 000 contacts. Nickelodeon (up 0.10 p.p. to 0.96%) came in second, while Cartoon Network (up 0.06 p.p. to 0.78%) came in third, respectively. Nickelodeon got 83.3 thousand contacts, and Cartoon Network channel - 43.9 thousand. The fourth place is taken by Pixel channel, which viewing share has increased by 0.03 percentage points up to 0.67%, and the number of contacts was 231 000.
Entertainment channels
In April, the leader of the group, TET channel, has received a slightly larger share of viewing (an increase of 0.04 p.p. to 2.76%), generating 527.5 thousand contacts with IPTV/OTT households throughout Ukraine. The average TET viewing time was 46.4 minutes. NLO-TV channel is in second place with a viewing share of 0.97% (an increase of 0.01 p.p.). The share of Mega channel in third place has decreased by 0.04 p.p. up to 0.48%. NLO-TV had 324 thousand contacts with TV viewers, and Mega channel had 251 thousand. OCE TV channel was in fourth place with an indicator of 0.39% (a decrease of 0.05 percentage points), and Sonce channel located at fifth place (the share of viewing kept unchanged and amounted to 0.30% in April).
News channels
The first place among the news channels belongs to the channel Ukraine 24, which share of viewing has increased by 0.34 percentage points up to 1.99% in April (the channel has received 268.1 thousand contacts and the average viewing time of 42.5 minutes). The viewing share of NASH channel, which took the second place, has increased by 0.04 p.p. up to 0.98%. The channel received 157.7 thousand unique contacts in April and an average viewing time of 59 minutes. PRYAMIY channel showed a viewing share of 0.70%, up 0.05 p.p. higher than its result in March, and ranks third with 175 thousand contacts. The average viewing time was 44.7 minutes. The fourth place is taken by Channel 24 - the share of viewing remained unchanged at the level of 0.50%, the number of contacts with the channel - 48.9 thousand. In the fifth place is Espresso TV (the share of viewing increased by 0.07 p.p. to the level of 0.47 %), which generated 197.8 thousand contacts.
Documentary channels
Viasat History continues to hold the first place in the group, which share of viewing remained unchanged at the level of 0.73% (the total number of contacts with the channel - 200.8 thousand), and Viasat Explore CEE - channel takes the second position in the group with the indicator 0.58% (an increase of 0.03 p.p.). The number of contacts the channel had with IPTV / OTT households throughout Ukraine amounted to 148.8 thousand. NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC took the third place with a viewing share of 0.49% (an increase of 0.03 percentage points). Viasat Nature CEE channel (0.47% viewing share, an increase of 0.03 p.p.) is in fourth place, while Nat Geo Wild channel is in fifth with 0.38% (minus 0.03 p.p. ).
The average viewing time of the channels-leaders in the group, was in April: Viasat History - 42 minutes, Viasat Explore CEE - 37.5 minutes, NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC - 32 minutes.
TV series channels
The group of the channels demonstrating TV series continues to be led by BIGUDI channel in April, which increased its viewing share by 0.10 percentage points. up to 0.72% and generated 128.6 thousand contacts with IPTV / OTT households. In second place is Paramount Comedy channel, which share of viewing has increased by 0.02 p.p. up to 0.33%. The third place is occupied by FOX channel with a viewing share of 0.28%.
Music channels
M1 ranks first - its share of viewing has dropped to 0.45%, followed by EU MUSIC (shareof viewing kept unchanged at 0.29%). M2 is in third place with a viewing share of 0.22%.
Regional channels
In April, Channel 4 took the first place among regional channels with a viewing share of 0.044%. The second place is occupied by Kiev channel with an indicator of 0.035%. TV channel Nash, receiving a viewing share of 0.029%, takes the third place, and ATR channel, which viewing share was 0.026%, is in fourth place. Next channel is UA: Crimeahas an indicator within 0.023% of the viewing share.
