Summer has come, which means it's time to invite you to the Big Data Awards ceremony, which will be held offline on July 1 this year. In the meantime, you are waiting for this event, we have prepared for your attention a fresh review of IPTV / OTT watching for May.
Compared to April, the overall viewing dropped by only 2% and stopped at the level of 6.18%. That is, in May, viewers consumed TV content almost the same as in the previous month. On the other hand, there were interesting changes in viewers' preferences regarding the revision of certain groups of channels, and in the group of general viewing channels, the leader changed for the first time in a fairly long period.

General viewing channels
In May, STB has gained the leading position, shifting 1 + 1 to second place. STB channel had a viewing share of 11.21% in May (an increase of 1.10 percentage points), and on 1 + 1 - 10.96% (a 1.04 percentage point decrease). STB generated 820.8 thousand contacts, and in 1 + 1 this figure was 788.6 thousand.
The third place was taken by Channel Ukraine with a viewing share of 9.36% (a decrease by 0.72 pp and 715 thousand contacts). ICTV channel lost 0.52 pp in May. and is in fourth place with an indicator of 8.44% (generated 725.5 thousand contacts). Novy Channel ranks fifth, adding 0.32 p.p. in May. (The share of views is 6.77%, the number of contacts with the channel is 694.8 thousand), while Inter channel remains in sixth with an indicator of 5.13% (the share of viewing has increased by 0.86 p.p., 581.7 thousand were generated contacts).
Movie channels
The leading position continues to be held by TV 1000 East (the viewing share 1.58%, down 0.27 pp). In total, more than 331 900 unique households connected to IPTV / OTT platforms watched TV 1000 East throughout the month throughout Ukraine with an average viewing rate of 35.6 minutes.
TV 1000 Action East channel with an indicator of 1.57% (an increase of 0.03 p.p., the number of contacts - 380.3 thousand) is in second place in the group. The third place in the group is held by ViP Comedy channel (viewing share 1.01%, an increase of 0.08 pp), which was viewed by 219.4 thousand households. The fourth place is taken by ViP Megahit HD channel (the share of views is 0.98%, an increase of 0.21 pp, the number of contacts with the channel is 130.3 thousand). ViP Premiere HD channel (the viewing share has increased by 0.15 p.p. to 0.60%) took the fifth place - the channel reached 128.1 thousand households in May.
Entertainment channels
In May, the leader of the group, TET channel, received a slightly lower share of viewing (a decrease by 0.10 p.p. to 2.66%), generating 509.7 thousand contacts with IPTV / OTT households throughout Ukraine. The average TET watch time was 43.7 minutes.
NLO-TV channel is in second place with a viewing share of 1.21% (an increase of 0.24 pp). The share of Megachannel in third place increased by 0.02 p.p. up to 0.51%. NLO-TB there were 349 thousand contacts with TV viewers, Mega channel - 257.5 thousand. OCE-TV channel took the fourth place with an indicator of 0.43% (an increase of 0.04 p.p.), and Indigo TV ranked fifth (its share increased in May by 0.06 p.p. and amounted to 0.35%)
Children's channels
The viewing share of the Plus Plus channel sank by 0.12 percentage points in May to the level of 1.72%, and the channel remains in first place, having generated 208.8 thousand contacts. Nickelodeon (down 0.06 p.p. to 0.90%) came in second, while Cartoon Network (down 0.02 p.p. to 0.76%) came in third, respectively. Nickelodeon generated 88.4 thousand contacts, and the Cartoon Network channel - 46.2 thousand. The fourth place is occupied by Pixel channel, the share of which has lost 0.05 p.p. and decreased by 0.62%, and the number of contacts was 231 thousand.
Sports channels
Football 1 channel remains in first place in the group, having reduced the share of views by 0.94 p.p. up to 1.83%. Football 2 ranks second with a viewing share of 1.57% (down 0.22 pp). Football 1 received 181.6 thousand contacts; the Football 2 channel was watched by 168.9 thousand households. Setanta Sports HD channel (the share of viewing in May is 0.63%, an increase of 0.05 pp, the number of contacts with the channel - 293 thousand) takes the third position. The fourth place is occupied by Football 3 channel with a viewing share of 0.27% and 121.8 thousand contacts. XSPORT channel ranks fifth with a view share of 0.18% and 247 thousand contacts.
News channels
The first place among the news channels belongs to the channel Ukraine 24, the share of which in May increased by 0.01 percentage points. up to 1.99% (the channel received 275.1 thousand contacts and an average viewing time of 41.1 minutes). The viewing share of NASH channel, which ranked second, decreased by 0.02 p.p. up to 0.96%. The channel received 160.5 thousand unique contacts in May and an average viewing time of 56.9 minutes. PRYAMYIshowed a viewing share of 0.70% (unchanged) and ranks third with 180 thousand contacts. The average viewing time was 42.5 minutes. Fourth place got Channel 24 - the viewing share has increased by only 0.01 p.p. up to 0.51%, the number of contacts with the channel - 48.4 thousand. In fifth place is Espresso TV (the share of viewing has decreased by 0.02 pp to the level of 0.45%), which generated 200.7 thousand. contacts.
Documentary channels
Viasat History channel continues to occupy the first place in the group, the share of which remained unchanged at the level of 0.73% (the total number of contacts with the channel is 203.2 thousand), and NATIONAL GEOGRAPHICchannel occupies the second position in the group with an indicator of 0 53% (an increase of 0.04 p.p.). The contacts number of the channel with IPTV / OTT households throughout Ukraine amounted to 138.7 thousand. Viasat Explore CEE took the third place with a viewing share of 0.46% (a decrease of 0.12 percentage points). Viasat Nature CEEchannel (0.46% view share, down 0.01 p.p.) is in fourth place, while Nat Geo Wild is in fifth with 0.41% (plus 0.03 p.p.).
TV series channels
The group of TV series channels continues to be led by BIGUDI channel, which increased its viewing share by 0.04 percentage points up to 0.75% and generated 137.5 thousand contacts with IPTV / OTT households in May. In second place is Paramount Comedy channel, the share of which decreased by 0.01 p.p. up to 0.32%. The third place is occupied by FOX channel with a view share of 0.29%.
Music channels
M1 ranks first - its viewing share increased to 0.49%, followed by EU MUSIC (its share decreased by 0.02 p.p. to 0.27%). MUSIC BOX UA channel is in third place with a viewing share of 0.26%.
Regional channels
In May, our channel took the first place among regional channels with a viewing share of 0.045%. Channel 4 is in second place with an indicator of 0.044%. TV channel Kiev, having received a viewing share of 0.037%, is in third place, and Horizon TV, with a viewing fate of 0.026%, is in fourth place. The next, ATR is within 0.026% viewing share.
