Dear colleagues!
We will remember this July for its low general TV viewing. It seems that a significant part of viewers on the IPTV/OTT platform decided to take a vacation and a little break from TV in July (about a third of all viewers). As of the end of July, there were 453 300 devices in the IPTV/OTT panel.
We record a low average daily coverage in July (22.09%). Given that the average viewing time has grown to four hours. That are, those viewers who remained, haveincreased their viewing time by an average of 4 hours, which is 6% more than in June.
As expected, after the end of the European Football Championship 2020, interest in watching sports channels has dropped. However, the start of the Tokyo Olympics, which competitions are broadcast on the UA:PERSHYI channel,has allowed this channel to increase its viewing share from 0.33% to 1.53% in July, that is, almost five times.
Thus, total TV viewing fell to 3.76% in July (minus 30% compared to June), and those viewers who still continued to watch TV have chosen the general viewing channels, movie and children's channels.

General viewing channels
In July, Channel Ukraine continues to hold the leading position (the share of the overhead is 12.53%, a decrease of 0.43 pp). The share of 1 + 1 viewing was 10.34% in July (a decrease of 0.78 percentage points). Channel Ukraine has generated 1,140 000 contacts, while for 1 + 1 this figure was 745 000.
The third place was taken by ICTV channel with a viewing share of 8.29% (an increase of 0.34 pp and 698 900thousand contacts). STB channel has lost 0.23 p.p. in July and is in fourth place with an indicator of 7.35% (generated 667 600 thousand contacts). Inter ranks fifth, adding 1.20 p.p. in July. (The share of viewing is 5.99%, the number of contacts with channel is 610 200), and Novy Channel moved to the sixth channel with an indicator of 5.48% (the share of viewing grew by only 0.06 p.p., 656 800 contacts)
Movie channels
The leading position continues to be held by TV 1000 Action East channel (viewing share 2.04%, an increase of 0.47 pp). In total, more than 427 700 unique households connected to IPTV/OTT platforms watched TV 1000 Action East during a month throughout Ukraine with an average viewing rate of 40 minutes.
TV 1000 East with an indicator of 1.98% (an increase of 0.49 pp, the number of contacts - 341.7 thousand) took the second place in the group. The third place in the group is held by ViP Comedy channel (viewing share 1.17%, an increase of 0.22 pp), which was viewed by 256 000 households. The fourth place is taken by VIP Megahit HDchannel (the share of views is 1.05%, an increase of 0.25 pp, the number of contacts with the channel is 135 900).VIP Premiere HD channel (the share of viewing increased by 0.10 p.p. to 0.65%) took the fifth place - the channel reached 128 200 thousand households in July.
Children's channels
The viewing share of Plus Plus channel has increased by 0.27 percentage points in July to the level of 1.68%, and the channel remains in first place, generating 196 500 contacts. Nickelodeon (up 0.20 p.p. to 1.08%) came in second, while Nick Jr (up 0.10 p.p. to 0.63%) came in third, respectively. Nickelodeon channel generated 88 700contacts, and Nick Jr channel – 44 600. The fourth place is taken by Cartoon Network channel, the share of which has lost 0.22 pp. and decreased to 0.50%, and the number of contacts was 28 500.
Entertainment channels
In July, the leader of the group, TET channel, received the highest viewing share (an increase of 0.19 p.p. to 2.51%), generating 466 800 contacts with IPTV/OTT households throughout Ukraine. The average viewing time of TET was 40.8 minutes.
NLO-TV channel is in second place with a viewing share of 1.16% (an increase of 0.04 p.p.). The share of Megachannel in third place has increased by 0.02 p.p. up to 0.50%. NLO-TV had 292 800 thousand contacts with TV viewers, Mega channel – 236 100. Indigo TV is in fifth place (the share has increased only by 0.01 p.p. and amounted to 0.32% in July)
Sports channels
After the end of broadcast of the European Championship-2020, Football 1 channel lost the first place, although its viewing rate fell by 5.75 p.p. up to 2.62%. Football 2 ranks second with a viewing share of 0.95% (down 0.84 p.p.). Football 1 received 306.5 thousand contacts, while Football 2 channel had contact with 185 200 households. Setanta Sports HD channel (the share of viewing is 0.39% in July, an increase of 0.10 pp, the number of contacts with the channel – 315 900) takes the third position. The fourth place is occupied by Football 3 channel with a viewing share of 0.38% and 176 300 contacts. FIGHTBOX HD ranks fifth with a 0.34% viewing share and 259 200 contacts.
News channels
The first place among news channels is held by the channel Ukraine 24, which share of viewing increased by 0.22 percentage points up to 2.08% in July (the channel received 386 300 contacts and an average viewing time of 36.1 minutes). The viewing share of NASH channel, which is in second place, has increased by 0.11 p.p. up to 1.01%. The channel received 158 200 unique contacts in July and an average viewing time of 55.9 minutes. Channel PRYAMIY showed a view share of 0.73% (added 0.10 p.p.), and ranks third with 186 000 contacts. The average viewing time was 42.4 minutes. The fourth place belongs to Channel 24 - the share of views increased by 0.05 p.p. up to 0.49%, the number of contacts with the channel – 46 300 contacts.
Documentary channels
The first place in the group continues to be held by Viasat History channel, the share of which has increased by 0.12 p.p. up to 0.79% (the total number of contacts with the channel is 207.9 thousand), and NATIONAL GEOGRAPHICoccupies the second position in the group with an indicator of 0.54% (an increase of 0.06 p.p.). The number of contacts the channel had with IPTV/OTT households throughout Ukraine amounted to 146 thousand. Viasat Explore CEE took the third place with a viewing share of 0.49% (an increase of 0.08 percentage points). Viasat Nature CEE(0.46% viewing share, up the 0.06 p.p.) is in fourth place, while Nat Geo Wild is in fifth with 0.42% (plus 0.02 p.p.).
TV series channels
The group of channels demonstrating TV series continues to be headed by BIGUDI channel in July, which reduced the share of viewing by 0.02 percentage points up to 0.62% and generated 111 9000 contacts with IPTV/OTT households. In second place is Paramount Comedy channel, the share of which has increased by 0.04 p.p. up to 0.34%. The third place is held by FOX channel with a view share of 0.27%.
Music channels
M1 ranks first - its share of views increased to 0.50%, followed by EU MUSIC (its share increased by 0.05 p.p. to 0.31%). MUSIC BOX UA channel is in third place with a view share of 0.30%.
Regional channels
In July, Channel 4 took the first place among regional channels with a viewing share of 0.040%. The second place is occupied by NASH TV channel with an indicator of 0.039%. TV channel ‘KIEV’, having received a viewing share of 0.036%, takes the third place, and ATR channel, which has a viewing share of 0.032%, is in fourth place. Following them UA:CRIMEA has an indicator within 0.024% of the viewng share.
