Dear colleagues!
We, as well as those all-involved in TV, were interested to see the stats of the upcoming Fall TV season.
In September, the total TV viewing as usually expected its increase by 15% or 0.80 percentage points to 5.99%, with both the coverage per day (by 12%) and the average viewing time (by 4%) increasing. At the end of September, there were 412.1 thousand devices in the IPTV/OTT panel.
Hence, the fact should be noted the increase in total TV viewing was mainly due to the rise of coverage per day.
The biggest growth, traditionally at the beginning of the Fall season, is shown by general viewing channels. Otherchannel categories show a slight decrease in rates. The most capturing intrigue is whether Channel ‘Ukraine’ hasmanaged to regain the leadership among the channels of general viewing, and did STB overrun ICTV in the strugglefor the place deserved.

General viewing channels
In September, 1 + 1 has remained on the first position (viewing share of 11.55%, an increase of 1.01 percentage points). Channel ‘Ukraine’, continues occupying the second place, the viewing share of which in September was 10.68% (an increase of 0.29 percentage points). The channel 1 + 1 has generated 711.9 thousand contacts, and Channel ‘Ukraine’ has reached 830.1 thousand. In third place was STB channel with a share of 8.95% (an increase of 1.19 percentage points and 657.9 thousand contacts). ICTV channel has grown by only 0.54 percentage points in September and is in fourth place with a rate of 7.93% (635.5 thousand contacts generated). Novy Channel ranks fifth, adding 0.91 percentage points in September (the share viewing of 6.51%, the number of contacts the channel received - 612.3 thousand), and Inter remains in sixth place with 5.19% (the share of viewing decreased by 0.12 percentage points, 547.3 thousand contactsgained).
Movie channels
The leading position continues to be held by TV 1000 Action East (viewing share of 1.86%, decrease by 0.11 percentage points). In total, during the month, more than 360.8 thousand unique households connected to IPTV / OTT platforms watched TV 1000 Action East throughout Ukraine with an average viewing time of 41.2 minutes. TV 1000 East with a rate of 1.82% (a decrease of 0.16 percentage points, the number of contacts - 302.2 thousand) took second place in the group. The third place in the group is held by ViP Comedy (viewing share of 1.05%, decrease by 0.04 percentage points), which was seen by 204.5 thousand households. In fourth place is the VIP Megahit HD (the viewing share is 0.87%, a decrease of 0.09 percentage points, the number of contacts the channel scored - 103.3 thousand). VIP Premiere HD (the viewing share fell by 0.12 percentage points to 0.68%) took fifth place - in September, the channel's coverage amounted to 101.3 thousand households.
Entertainment channels
The group's leader in September, TET channel, has slightly increased its viewing share (an increase of only 0.11 percentage points to 2.62%), generating 421.3 thousand contacts with IPTV / OTT households all across Ukraine. The average viewing time of TET was 48.1 minutes. NLO-TV channel is in second place with a viewing share of 0.94% (a decrease of 0.05 percentage points). The share of Indigo TV channel in third place has increased by 0.03 percentage points up to 0.60%. NLO-TV had 282.8 thousand contacts with viewers, and Indigo TV has 196.7 thousand. In fourth place was OCE-TV with a share of 0.47% (lost 0.06 percentage points), while Mega was in fifth place (the share in September has decreased by 0.08 percentage points and amounted to 0, 36%)
Children's channels
The viewing share of Plus Plus channel in September slipped in 0.01 percentage points to the level of 1.49%,however the channel has remained in first place, generating 163.7 thousand contacts. Nickelodeon channel (the viewing share also has decreased by 0.15 percentage points to 0.89%) ranks second, and Nick Jr (an increase of 0.03 percentage points to 0.71%) ranks third, respectively. Nickelodeon has generated 82.3 thousand contacts, while Nick Jr - 44.2 thousand. The fourth place is taken by Pixel, the viewing share of which has increased by 0.01 percentage points. up to 0.55%, and the number of contacts amounted to 179.7 thousand.
News channels
The first place among the news channels is held by Ukraine 24 channel, the viewing share of which has increased in September by 0.25 percentage points up to 2.26% (the channel received 333.4 thousand contacts and has an average viewing time of 43.8 minutes). The viewing share of the channel NASH , which is in second place, decreased by 0.11 percentage points. up to 1.00%. The channel has received 144.9 thousand unique contacts in September withthe average viewing time of 58.7 minutes. PRYAMIY channel with a viewing share of 0.73% (lost 0.01 percentage points) ranks third with 167.8 thousand contacts. The average viewing time was 46 minutes. The fourth place belongs to Channel 24 - the viewing share has decreased by 0.06 percentage points. up to 0.47%, the number of contacts the channel took - 42.8 thousand. In fifth place is Espresso TV (the viewing share fell by 0.03 percentage points to 0.42%), which has generated 181.5 thousand contacts.
Sports channels
Football 1 continues to be the leader in the first place (the viewing share increased by 0.27 percentage points to 2.46%). Football 2 ranks second with a viewing share of 0.96% (down 0.37 percentage points). Football 1 received 187.3 thousand contacts, while Football 2 has been watched by 139.1 thousand households. Setanta Sports HD channel (the viewing share in this month is 0.52%, a decrease of 0.05 percentage points, the number of contacts the channel reached - 348.4 thousand) occupies the third position. The fourth place is held by Football 3 channel with a share of 0.46% and 139.1 thousand contacts received. XSPORT channel ranks fifth with a viewing share of 0.20% and 241.7 thousand contacts.
Documentary channels
In the first place of the group continues to be the channel Viasat History, the viewing share of which has increased by only 0.02 percentage points up to 0.80% (the number of contacts the channel had- 173.6 thousand), while NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC took the second position in the group with a share of 0.483% (a decrease of 0.01 percentage points). The number of channel contacts with IPTV / OTT households throughout Ukraine amounted to 126.8 thousand. In third place was Viasat Explore CEE with a share of 0.48% (a decrease of 0.02 percentage points). Nat Geo Wild channel (0.42% viewing percentage, 0.06 percentage points lower) is in fourth place, and Viasat Nature CEE is in fifth place with 0.32% (minus 0.01 percentage points).
TV series channels
The group of channels showing the TV series continues to be headed by BIGUDI channel in September, the viewing share of which remaining unchanged at 0.56% and the acquisition of 105.8 thousand contacts with IPTV / OTT households. In second place is Epic Drama, the viewing share of which has increased by 0.02 percentage points up to 0.40%. The third place is held by Star Family channel with a share of 0.36%.
Music channels
M1 ranks first - its viewing share has fell slightly to 0.46%, while in second place - EU MUSIC (share unchanged 0.26%). MUSIC BOX UA channel in third place has a viewing share of 0.25%.
Regional channels
In September, Nash Channel took the first place among regional channels with the viewing share of 0.054%. In second place is Channel ‘Kyiv’ with a share of 0.037%. Channel ATR, receiving a viewing share of 0,035%, ranked third, while Horizon TV, the viewing share of which amounted 0.025%, in fourth place, respectively. Them following UA: CRIMEA with an indicator within 0.022% of the viewing share.
