We already have the latest TV viewing review for October, and we are ready to share this information with You. Considering since the end of October, most regions have moved to the red quarantine zone, we should expect an increase in TV consumption. So, now we have recorded exactly the "pre-quarantine" TV viewing and we look forward to what November will bring us.
As of the end of October, there were about 386.3 thousand households in the IPTV / OTT panel. Total TV viewing in October has increased by 8% to 6.47%, with the main driver of growth being an increase in average viewing time by almost 18 minutes (from 04:30:41 to 04:48:47). At the same time, the average daily coverage increased by only 1%, to 32.2%.
Main events of October:
The group of general viewing channels concentrated 60% of the viewers' attention. And in the group itself, a serious struggle unfolded for the first three places (spoiler: the leader of the group moved to third place in September according to the results of October).
Active political events and economic problems have increased interest in news channels.

General viewing channels
In October, 1 + 1 has remained in the first position (the share of viewing is 11.46%, the drawdown is only 0.09 pp). Also unexpectedly in October, STB brokethrough to the second place, demonstrating a phenomenal increase in the viewing share - from 8.95% in September to 11.10% in October (plus 2.14 pp at once ). 1 + 1 hasgenerated 723.2 thousand contacts, while for STB this figure was 795.4 thousand.
The third place was taken by the Channel ‘Ukraine’ with a viewing share of 10.39% (a decrease by 0.29 pp and 693.9 thousand contacts). ICTV channel also has lost 0.13 pp in October and is in fourth place with an indicator of 8.80% (generated 662.8 thousand contacts). Novy Channel ranks fifth, adding 0.11 p.p. in October. (viewing share 6.62%, the number of contacts with the channel - 628.5 thousand), while Inter remains in sixth with an indicator of 5.00% (the viewing share has decreased by 0.19 p.p., 549 thousand contacts weregenerated).
Movie channels
The leading position continues to be held by TV 1000 Action East channel (the share of viewing is 1.84%, a decrease of 0.04 p.p.). In total, more than 372 thousand unique households connected to IPTV / OTT platforms watched TV 1000 Action East during a month throughout Ukraine with an average viewing rate of 41.8 minutes.
Channel TV 1000 East with an indicator 1,879% (a decrease of 0.03 percentage points, the number of contacts - 318.4 thousand) is located on the second place in the group. The third place in the group is held by ViP Comedy channel (viewing share 0.99%, a decrease of 0.06 pp), which was viewed by 192.9 thousand households. The fourth place is taken by the VIP Megahit HD channel (the share of views is 0.92%, an increase of 0.04 p.p., the number of contacts with the channel is 107.1 thousand). VIP Premiere HD (the share of viewing has dropped by 0.04 p.p. to 0.64%) took the fifth place - the channel reached 104.9 thousand households in October.
News channels
The first place among the news channels is held by ‘Ukraine 24’ channel, which share of viewing in October has increased by 0.32 percentage points. up to 2.58% (the channel received 300.2 thousand contacts and an average viewing time of 52.6 minutes). The viewing share of NASH channel, which ranked second, has increased by 0.10 p.p. up to 1.09%. The channel has received 158 000 unique contacts in October and an average viewing time of 1 hour and 1.5 minutes. Channel PRYAMIY has showed a viewing share of 0.77% (added 0.04 p.p.), and ranks third out of 178 thousand contacts. The average viewing rate was 47.5 minutes. Fourth place on Channel 24 - viewing share has decreased by 0.01 p.p. up to 0.46%, the number of contacts with the channel is 42.5 thousand. In fifth place is Espresso TV (the viewing share increased by 0.01 p.p. to the level of 0.43%), which generated 193.6 thousand contacts.
Children's channels
The viewing share of Plus Plus channel has increased by 0.01 percentage points in October to the level of 1.50%, and the channel remains in first place, generated 175.5 thousand contacts. Nickelodeon (share of viewing also increased by 0.02 percentage points to 0.91%) received second place, and Nick Jr (share at 0.71% unchanged) takes the third place, respectively. Nickelodeon has generated 86.5 thousand contacts, and Nick Jr made it to 47.4 thousand. The fourth place is taken by Pixel, the share of which has dropped by 0.04 p.p. up to 0.51%, and the number of contacts was 194.2 thousand.
Entertainment channels
In October, the group leader, TET channel, has reduced the share of viewing (drawdowns by 0.25 p.p. to 2.38%), generating 442.5 thousand contacts with IPTV / OTT households throughout Ukraine. The average viewing time of TET was 44.5 minutes.
NLO-TV is in second place with a viewing share of 0.95% (unchanged). The share of Indigo TV in third place has decreased by 0.05 p.p. up to 0.51%. NLO -TV had 299.8 thousand contacts with viewers, while Indigo TV had 196.5 thousand. In fourth place was channel OCE TV with an exponent of 0.45% (lost 0.02 percentage points), and Mega located in fifth place (the share has grown in August and 0.02 ppt was 0, 37 %)
Sports channels
Football 1 remains in first place (the share of viewing dropped by 0.61 p.p. to 1.86%). Football 2 ranks second with a viewing share of 1.04% (an increase of 0.07 p.p.). Football 1 received 142.4 thousand contacts, Football 2 was watched by 122.4 thousand households. Setanta Sports HD (the share of views in October is 0.49%, a decrease of 0.04 p.p., the number of contacts with the channel is 307.9 thousand) occupies the third position. The fourth place is occupied by Football 3 channel with a viewing share of 0.36% and 87.5 thousand contacts. Setanta Sports Plus takes the fifth place with a viewing share of 0.18% and 279.3 thousand contacts.
The total sports channels group has generated around 1 920 000 contacts.
Documentary channels
The first place in the group continues to be held by Viasat History channel, the share of which decreased by only 0.03 p.p. up to 0.77% (the total number of contacts with the channel is 178.5 thousand), and NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC channel occupies the second position in the group with an indicator of 0.47% (a decrease of 0.02 percentage points). The number of contacts of the channel with IPTV / OTT households throughout Ukraine amounted to 131.3 thousand. Viasat Explore CEE came third with a 0.45% viewing share (down 0.03 pp). Nat Geo Wild (share of viewing 0.39%, a decrease of 0.03 percentage points) is at the fourth position, and the channel Viasat Nature CEE – fifth, with indicator 0.32% (no change).
TV series channels
The group of TV series channels in October continues to be headed by BIGUDI channel, the viewing share of whichhas remained unchanged at the level of 0.56% and generated 115.2 thousand contacts with IPTV / OTT households. In second place is Epic Drama, which share of viewing has lost 0.04 p.p. up to 0.35%. The third place is occupied by Paramount Comedy channel with a viewing share of 0.34%.
Music channels
M1 ranks first - its share of views slightly decreased to 0.43%, followed by EU MUSIC (its share decreased by 0.03 p.p. to 0.22%). Channel M2 is in third place with a viewing share of 0.215%.
Regional channels
In October, Nash Channel continues to lead in the first place among regional channels with a viewing share of 0.045%. In second place is Kiev channel with an indicator of 0.036%. ATR channel, having received a viewing share of 0.034%, takes the third place, and UA:Crimea channel, which has a viewing share of 0.024%, is in fourth place. Next to them, Horizon TV has an indicator within 0.022% of the viewing share.
